Set in the Yorkshire dales village of Hawes in beautiful Wenslydale this is busy central pub. A good place to stop for refreshment when you are in the village.
It is in the the Heart of
James Herriott country. The nearby village of Askrigg is where the TV series All Creatures Great and Small based on the life of the famous Vet was filmed.
Also close by are Hardrow Falls that are well worth a visit.
Hawes is also home to the Wenslydale Creamery producers of the famous Wenslydale cheese as featured in the popular animated TV series Wallace and Grommit . There is a visitor centre and shop. All
their cheeses are on sale here. If you are in Hawes the creamery is defiantly worth a visit. It is about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the pub.
